US Boxing Champion Errol Spence Jr Hospitalized after Horrific Car Crash

World champion boxer Errol Spence Jr. was hospitalized following a horrific car crash in Dallas. The welterweight king flipped his Ferrari during the high-speed crash.

The 29-year-old was heading home from a nightclub in his white Ferrari when he crashed and flipped his ride near I-30 at around 3 am.

Spence was thrown out of the car due to the impact of the crash that left his $300K Ferrari 488 Spider in shambles. The police have not determined the cause of the crash yet.

Later that day, CCTV footage of the accident recorded by a nearby security camera emerged online which showed Spence's car flipping as it ejected the boxer.

In a statement, the police revealed that Spence was not wearing a seatbelt when his car crashed.

"The Ferrari veered left over the center median onto the southbound lanes and flipped multiple times, ejecting the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt."

SPENCE "STABLE" FOLLOWING HOSPITALIZATION

Luckily, the pro boxer survived the horrific accident with some facial lacerations. PBC tweeted an update on Spence's condition Thursday night.

According to the tweet, Spence did not sustain any broken bones and he is "awake and responding."

According to KTVT television reporter J.D Miles, the boxer is expected to recover after suffering "broken teeth."

The accident area was a devastating sight with Spencer's wrecked car's parts scattered on the road. A lone shoe lay nearby the accident scene.

BOXERS REACT TO THE ACCIDENT

Following the devastating news, several pro boxers took to social media to extend their prayers for Spence.

Boxer Shawn Porter took to Twitter to send out his prayer for Spence and his family, hoping for his swift recovery.

Spence's former opponent Kell Brook also sent out a Tweet to covey his positive message.

Similarly, a fellow welterweight champion Terence Crawford tweeted: "Praying for you champ@ErrolSpenceJr get well we fighters I know you will."
